I WOULD LIKE TO PRESENT THE COMPETITION THE 1ST ONLINE CLASSICAL VOICE COMPETITION SOI SCUOLA DELL’OPERA ITALIANA FIORENZA CEDOLINS BEGAN IN MARCH 2020 DURING THE FIRST LOCKDOWN IN THE SPIRIT OF SOLIDARITY TOWARDS BOTH SINGERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
WE WANTED TO INCENTIVISE SINGERS TO NOT LOSE FAITH IN THEIR STUDIES AND THE BEGINNINGS OF THEIR CAREERS AS WELL AS OFFERING THE PUBLIC, WHO HADSUDDENLY BEEN DEPRIVED OF THE PLEASURE OF GOING TO THE THEATRE, NEW VIDEOS, INTERPRETED BY MANY NEW, UNDISCOVERED TALENTS.
THERE WERE TWO OTHER MOTIVES WHICH REMAIN THE FUNDAMENTAL REASONS FOR THE COMPETITION.
THE FIRST: THE COMPETITORS CAN BE EVALUATED BY AN EXCEPTIONAL JURY FOR A VERY SMALL FEE. 83 JURY MEMBERS OF THE HIGHEST INTERNATIONAL PRESTIGE FORM
OUR PANEL, I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THEM ALL FOR THE EXTRAORDINARY WORK THEY DO AND THE FAITH THEY HAVE IN THIS PROJECT.
THE JURY HAVE WORKED OVER THESE LAST THREE MONTHS THROUGH SMART WORKING, JUDGING NOT ONLY THE VOCAL QUALITIES OF THE SINGERS BUT ABOVE ALL THE ACTING AND PERFORMANCE SKILLS AS WELL AS THEIR CREATIVITY AND CHARISMA, INDISPENSABLE QUALITIES FOR A MODERN CAREER WHICH THEATRES ARE ALWAYS 
SEARCHING FOR, IN SHORT, A GREAT SINGER-ACTOR. 
THE COMPETITORS IN FACT, PARTICIPATE BY SENDING A GENUINE SHORT FILM WHERE THEY CREATE THEIR OWN DIRECTION, SCENERY, COSTUMES, DRAMA, DEMONSTRATING
ALL OF THEIR ARTISTIC QUALITIES AND NOT ONLY THEIR VOICES.
THESE SHORT FILMS GENERATE A LOT OF INTEREST IN THE PUBLIC OF THE SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS AND IT IS FOR THIS, THE SECOND FUNDAMENTAL REASON, THAT THE COMPETITION WAS STARTED, TO DIFFUSE CLASSICAL SINGING IN ALL OF ITS FACETS, INCLUDING THE COMPOSITION OF CONTEMPORARY SONGS WRITTEN FOR THE CLASSICAL VOICE, THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA.
SOCIAL MEDIA IS A VERY LARGE TOOL, IT’S DEMOCRATIC AND EXTREMELY CHEAP. AND. IF USED INTELLIGENTLY, CAN BRING CLASSICAL SINGING TO PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD,  ENCOURAGING THE CREATION OF A NEW PUBLIC FOR THE THEATRES, CONCERT HALLS AND MORE MODERN FORMS OF ART APPRECIATION SUCH AS IN STREAMING.
HERE ARE SOME OF THE STATISTICS OF THE SECOND EDITION, CONSIDERING THESE ARE EXCLUSIVELY FROM FACEBOOK AND OVER A PERIOD OF 2 MONTHS: 1,400,0001 PEOPLE  REACHED, 700,000 VIEWS, 50,000 VOTES AND WRITTEN COMMENTS, 30,000 LIKES, 10,000 SHARES. THESE NUMBERS SHOW HOW SUCCESSFUL THIS NEW FORMAT OF CLASSICAL SINGING COMPETITIONS CAN BE.
